Fleet Street is famous for being the birth place of British journalism. The first printer to set up here was way back in the 15th century, the first British newspaper 'The Daily Courant' began publishing from here in 1702. By the mid-twentieth century every British daily had a headquarters here. In the 1980's, they moved away from central London but the area has many reminders of that great era.
The world famous 300 year old cathedral is a must see and just around the corner from the apartment.
If you enjoy traditional English pubs we recommend Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, a 17th-century pub that still stands today. Its famous clientele was said to include the literary drinkers– Mark Twain, Charles Dickens and Samuel Johnson.
